Being a new Christian

Life, as we know it, is hard. In a 365 day-a-year schedule, each of it is a day of struggle and survival. Whether you are a student, teacher, nurse, policeman, doctor, lawyer, vendor, store manager, janitor, engineer, driver, pilot, or just a couch potato, we can't deny the fact that we experienced the miseries life will offer to us, together with happiness and joy.

The world is large enough for billions of people to strive, to live each day, to have the most vital resources a human being needs in order to live. And today's highly technological world provides us with conveniences which augment people's perception of a shrinking earth.

But with all of these offered today, do you still feel alone, somewhat rejected and nothing but a failure? Human as we are, we all felt that way at some point in our lives. Are you seeking for real happiness?

My friend, the emptiness inside your heart can't be filled with things of this chaotic world. It is only God Who can pour us with the things which will satisfy and make us contented.

Listen to God's Voice, you do not belong to this world.

Like several appliances at home, God is the Inventor of us. It is just rightful for us to seek God's purpose for us. He created us with a purpose, and we cannot run away from that divine responsibility. A dishwasher at home is used to wash dishes; refrigerators to store food; rice cooker to cook rice; coffee maker to brew our blend of coffee. Like those, we, as the creation of God, has our own unique purpose in Him. We are made to glorify Him.

If you ever felt of the pressure and rejection of this world, my friend, you are created for God's Glory, but you failed to know your true purpose in life. Come back to Him, and ask Him, your Inventor, of your purpose, which will satisfy the emptiness inside your heart.

Start for it by praying to God, unload all your burdens upon Him. Ask Him about filling the emptiness in your heart. Be sensitive in waiting for God's response.

Turn from your wicked ways. Put off your old self and do not ever go back to the darkness of your life. Understand that satan is attempting to be as wise as God is, and his strategy is to drag you back to your misery before. Rebuke the stronghold of satan in your life in Jesus' name, and let God cleanse you and transform you from the inside out. God is much wiser than satan is. Always remember that.

Build up your faith by reading the bible everyday. Pray and meditate on it everyday and every night. Seek the things you needed in the Bible. This is where God is speaking to you in direct words, not influenced by any other persons around. be sensitive and understanding of what God says. Ask for His wisdom in praying and seeking the bible.

Join a christian group on your school or somewhere nearest to your place of work or home. A christian cannot make it with only himself. You will need the company of other christians whom you can share your faith, problems and testimonies of God's Greatness.

Whenever, wherever you are and whatever you do, always pray and do it all for the Glory of God.

Being a new christian gives you a new perspective about the world, and how you see things around you. It brings new hope that you couldn't find somewhere else. He will give you the peace you have been waiting in your existence, despite the trials and challenges in life. This is the Power of God manifested in you.

Continue in faith, for God is counting on you, and surrender yourself to Him in all totality. He will take care of the rest.
