God had never promised us that living a life of faith is all about leisure and relaxation. The road of a christian will be detested by trials and challenges in our growth in maturity in faith.
Rather, God promised that He will comfort us despite trials, and all His promises will always remain unchanged, yesterday, today and tomorrow.
